4 Confessions of My Quarantined Life in 2020

The year 2020 started with enlisted resolutions to grow in personal and professional life. Like early to bed & early to rise, practicing mindfulness, and updating new advanced dental skills. Well, the first 2 months passed like a blink of an eye, and by the time finally, I adjusted to write the correct year on a prescription pad ‘MARCH’ started.

On 22nd of march our earnest PM Narendra Modi announced LOCKDOWN1.0 and advise to #stayhome #staysafe.

As I am a Dentist, I closed my clinic and was really excited that finally, I am getting off from work. I don’t have to think about the exhausting schedule I had previously and was super happy that now I can finally give time to all those procrastinated To-Do lists.

I suppose you must have also thought about many things to do in this quarantine time at home. Isn’t it?

Today we are in the unlocking phase and now that I retrospect these 3 months & compare it with the initial list I made, I have confessions to make “friends!”

I hope you understand and may have some similar feelings with me, don’t hesitate to share it with me.

1. I Didn’t Succeed in Joining “the 5 Am Club”.

“Own your morning. Elevate your life.”― Robin Sharma, The 5 AM Club.

I so wanted to embody this in my life. In a regular routine with no rest in the day time, I used to get exhausted and the schedule never allowed me to get up so early.

Thinking that being at home I'll get plenty of rest in the afternoon, I decided to join the club.

Even after making conscious decisions, I over pampered myself on most of the days to remain in bed after snoozing the 5 am alarm!  Every time I had reasons to console myself for not getting up.

Well alas, I got some extra sleep which compensated all the exhaustion off over a period of time.

2. Decluttering the Wardrobe - an Untold Saga.

On top of my to-do list, I had written it in BOLD letters to declutter my wardrobe.

I used to make time from the daily chores at home just to realize that “Humse Na Ho Payega!”

Is there anyone who can relate to this, or am I the only one here?

Looking at the wardrobe I used to feel tired, and with the closed door that thought also used to get CLOSE!

3. I Haven’t Read Any New Book! Hush, I Said It.

Being in the medical profession, my reading was limited to educational articles and books. While pursuing the Master's degree somehow reading outside the topic gradually reduced.

To make the best out of Quarantine time, I decided to read those books I bought it from amazon to read.

But, every time I took the book post-lunch, lying on the bed so that the book will fall on my face while I am dozing off.

Yup, that’s how I couldn’t complete the book I started!

4. An Incomplete Art Book.

They say, “DENTIST= Doctor, Engineer, Artist” I completely agree with this. Doing a simple restoration in a patient's mouth requires an art, to mimic the natural anatomy.

I do paintings on bottles, canvas, MDF, etc. I cleaned all those glass bottles so that I will paint and give them a new life in my house to decorate the room.

Well, I even started, but not completed yet! I really don’t have any strong reason to justify this and hence my confession.

I feel so much better now by expressing my confessions with you all.

I read this quote on Instagram “Pandemic is not a productivity competition.”

Well, it's true, isn't it?

Looking at the brighter side, I learned baking, pursued digital marketing certification from Google, learned content writing from professionals, and finally started my blog, most importantly I took a good rest which was very much needed.

Do you have any confessions?

You can share it with me here or I am very much active on Instagram @dr.minu_d. I would love to hear it from you.

Take care, my dear friends, & Stay safe.
